Buying a Goat

Prince Well Farm Goat Kids

All kids sold from Prince Well Farm will come with age appropriate shots. Kids are given their first CD&T at 6 weeks then a booster at 8 weeks. Kids are monitored for parasites and are treated accordingly. Kids are fed Kent Showfeeds Enrich 20R. This feed is perfectly balanced and we feel its the best feed for our kids. Kids are allowed 24/7 access to 2nd cut hay, Sweetlix Meat Maker minerals, ZinPro 40, and Kelp to help give them the best start.

Reservations and Deposits

We maintain both a free waitlist and a paid reservation list. If you don’t have a specific pairing in mind or just want pets you can be added to our waitlist. It’s a first come first serve list.

Reservations: If you have a specific pairing in mind and would like either a doeling or a buckling from that pairing a $50 dollar reservation fee is required. This fee goes towards the total purchase price of your goat. This fee is non-refundable if you choose not to go through with the sale. Preference will go to families participating in Linear Appraisal, DHIR (milk test), and or show homes.

Prince Well Farm reserves the right to retain any kids from any breedings even if a reservation is made. If that were to occur we would either refund your reservation or pass it onto another pairing of your choosing.

Sales Policy

1.) Goats sold will be free from any disqualifying defects. We cannot guarantee future height, health, udder, or show quality of the animal due to environmental impacts.

2.) Goats leaving the property will be healthy to the best of our knowledge. We cannot guarantee health once the animal has left our property.

3.) All goats on the farm will be vaccinated for CD&T, disbudded, and will have their hooves trimmed prior to leaving.

4.) Our herd is tested yearly for CAE, CL, and Johnes disease.

5.) Health certificates can be provided by our vet at Annabessacook Veterinary Clinic at the buyers expense.

6.) We ask that if you ever need to rehome a goat you have bought from us to offer us first right of refusal to buy the goat back.

7.) Goats will only be sold to homes with another goat as they are herd animals and rely on each other for company.

8.) Wethers will be castrated before leaving for their new homes.
